This is indubitably the most life-changing purity-related book I have ever encountered! It’s so much more than about sexual purity, though; it’s about purity and devotion in your relationship with Christ. This absolutely transformed the way I think about my relationship with Jesus, and totally challenged the way I approach Him! Absolutely changed my life. There are many books out there about physical purity, and how to attain it and control yourself, and blah blah blah When I first picked it up to read it after a friend lent it to me, I could not put it down. Her story was so similar to my own that I had to keep reading to see how she was able to transform her life like I so desperately wanted to transform Absolutely changed my life.

I had never cried while reading a book until this one- only because there were pages and personal stories that she shared of her life that sounded almost identical to mine.
It is starts with how deep down inside or advertised to the world, every little girl’s dream is to be a princess and find her prince charming, and how the older we get and see how this world works, the more those dreams are crushed, and we begin to lower our standards oftentimes unknowingly to fit with society and our surroundings. I finished this book in March of this year and my life has been changed ever since.
Leslie not only talks about how to attain physical puritybut she also teaches young women how to guard their hearts and develop feminine mystique. God changed her life, and He can change yours to - all you have to do is ask.
I am 21 years old and going into my senior year of college - I would recommend this book for any woman looking to change her ways - particularly around men, develop Authentic Beautyand live for God and His purpose. Jan 04, Rachel rated it did not like it.
I didn’t like this one because it assumes several things about how women think and what they want. I really hate sweeping generalizations based on gender or anything else for that matter.

For a mid-thirties married woman, this book really didn’t offer anything of interest. I stopped reading halfway through. I found it quite repetitive and a bit self-loathing on the part of the author. This book reveals what it is like to have a sacred relationship with our Heavenly Prince- Jesus. It answers many of the exorbitant questions that single women have about guys and gives insight and advice on how to treat and interact with young men as brothers. Even though we live in a sex-saturated, selfish world, Leslie tenderly reveals to young women that it is possible to live a fulfilling, glorious life of purity. Do we know our Prince? Has He become the Lover of our soul, the essence of our very existence, the center of our entire being, and the One we would give up everything, including our very life, to follow? Even if it meant that I never had friends again and became a social outcast, with all my heart I wanted to build my life around Him. Those unified prayers dissolved the tension between them, and it wasn’t long before the attack on their relationship stopped altogether.
They had hit their enemy where it lfslie by using prayer as an offensive weapon. By the end of that year, their neighbour had discovered Jesus Christ, and Eric and Krissy’s relationship was stronger than ever. Amazingly, the answer to every single issue we will ever face uathentic be found through deep intimacy with our true Prince.

The more we seek Him, the more we come to know what His plan and purpose is for our life. The more we pursue Him, the more we gain His perspective on any problem we might be facing. The more we worship Him, the more we become His set-apart princess.

It is important not to rush to the next stage until the previous one has been throughly established. We read inspiring Christian biographies together and talked about how they impacted us. We read Scripture together and spent hours praying and thinking about how that Truth should affect our daily lives. We worshiped our Prince together around the Piano.
This book is full of authentic, beautiful truths, and so much to take in that it’s almost overwhelming! One of my dear blogging friends, Amanda, put it so well when she said that the author and her husband leave the reader “blessedly convicted” through their writing. I certainly felt convicted seeing how short I fall of truly living every moment fully for the Lord. How often I allow myself to get distracted, even while knowing how important it is to passionately guard my time with the Lord-praying, reading the Bible, and worshiping Him. But I also felt blessed to be reminded of the preciousness of the relationship I have with God. There is so much to glean from these pages! Leslie Ludy does a wonderful job of pointing readers to God and reminding them of their need to focus always on Him.
It is so easy to get sidetracked in this world, and so hard not to dwell on earthly romances or the lack thereof. But God is so good, and there’s absolutely nothing that can compare with spending time with Him and knowing Him! One of the few things that perhaps frustrated me a little about the book was the repetition.
Certainly, there is nothing wrong with repeating important points so that the reader is sure to understand the main message. However, I think the repetitiveness of specific words and phrases was a bit overdone, although this is just one reader’s opinion! Overall, though, I have been inspired by the Ludys’ example. The inclusion of Eric Ludy’s articles auyhentic helpful in gaining a good perspective of masculinity and how that affects femininity.
And now that Lesie finished the book, I know I have so much I need to think about and actually apply to my life! If a book challenges you to draw closer to God and encourages you to put Him first and seek His will, then it’s a book worth reading-and this book was both very challenging and wonderfully encouraging!

In this book “Authentic Beauty”, Leslie Ludy, the author speaks of her growing bexuty as one of us girls, always wanting someone to fall in love with and have her own fairytale with.

And as she grows up, she keeps looking but does not find the love that we consider love. She finds a relationship with her ‘true prince’ which is god. The beatuy book talks about growing up as woman, and finding her ‘true prince’ creating a relationship with him, and sticking to that but at the same time finding her husband now, and maintaining a relationship with her ‘true prince’ by living a christian lifestyle and to her, that was her fairy tale.
This book is one of the sweetest, most touching books i’ve ever read. As I read, I would underline a lot because there were a lot of parts in the book where i could connect myself to. I really liked this book because the feelings in this book are raw, feelings that every girl have felt or will feel.
