I really enjoyed it from start to finish ok, maybe I fast-forwarded through some of the battle scenes, but that’s just me. Most care more about the latest technology than about how people lived in the thirteenth century.

I also happen to love the concept of time travel, and I love good, simple, clean stories. It will make more sense as the story unfolds. I felt cheated out of watching that relationship develop. I liked the cover for book one better, and I wish the book were slightly more engaging at times, foltsteps the characters are occasionally boring. I enjoy a storyline that takes me into the past, and this one did that and then some.

Anything more, and I’d have to warn of spoilers. I loved that this book is told by multiple different characters in chronological wodbury.

Woodbury did a good job of telling the story from both a male and a female viewpoint, although that isn’t the purpose of switching characters rather to give an omnipotent view of what is going on.

I fell in love with the characters and the possibility of changing history in an alternate universe. David was a cool character, and I do want to read more about him.

The final pages of this book were nail-biters, and oh, did Woodbury write us a heckuva cliffhanger! I couldn’t wait to read more about the characters in the story and immediately purchased another one of the books in the series. There are great twists and turns in the book, and I am sure I shall read book 2, and I’m sure that I shall enjoy it just as much or maybe more. I started the After Cilmeri series with tlme prequel, “Daughter of Time”, and was hooked before I was done.
