Thanks for the response Staci. I don’t have the pattern; was working from the video (and Socks 101 on Knitty.com), but I figured everything out after I commented. I simply made the decreases, then knit over to the marker and pulled the cord out of the opposite end. to finish. Thanks for these great videos. They were really helpful in learning magic loop sock knitting (and I’m mostly a crocheter )

@rich2810 Your pattern should spell this out for you…in the case of this video, I had already done the toe decreases on one side, and I was actually starting in the middle of my round. Since the toe decreases are identical on the two sides, it really made no difference for demonstration purposes.

Hi Staci. At the end of the previous video, you have the needles coming out of the middle of the heel, which you called the new beginning of the round, and the cord coming out of the middle of the instep. In this video, it’s reversed with the needles coming out of the middle of the instep and the cord coming out of the middle of the heel. I’m not working from your pattern, just watching the videos. My needles are coming out of the heel and I’m ready to decrease the toe. What should I do?

i have 44 stitces (as per pattern) 22 on each needle.
where should i place the markers?

@sehryn SSK is a left-leaning, one stitch decrease. I have a video on this technique called “Knitting Help - slip, slip, knit (ssk)”. Sorry - YouTube won’t let me post a link here.

On the toe is the second needle suppose to be knit to 3 sts from marker, ssk, k1, slip marker, k1, k2tog, knit to end of needle? Just the opposite of the first needle? My first attempt didn’t look right knitting the same as instructed on both needles, so I had knitted as above and I have a mirror image now. The ssk’s are on top(instep side) and the k2tog’s on the bottom (heel side).
Thank you for a wonderful lesson on Magic Loop sock knitting. It got me to knit socks the Magic Loop.
